Understanding Tactical Shifts
This mapper helps you see how teams change shape during a match. Each formation preset shows a common setup used by coaches. Brazil typically starts in a 4-2-3-1 and shifts to 3-4-3 when pressing high. Norway often begins in a 4-3-3 and drops to a 5-3-2 when defending deep.
Pressing triggers appear as orange markers on the timeline. When Brazil presses at minute 23, the midfield line pushes higher. Norway's midfield press at minute 55 shows a coordinated trap between lines.
Substitutions affect shape significantly. When Brazil brings on a winger at minute 78, the formation becomes wider. Norway's defensive substitution creates a back five.
Use the compare mode to analyze both teams simultaneously. This helps identify tactical weaknesses and opportunities. Fantasy managers can spot when a team shifts to an attacking formation that boosts player points.
Remember that these are simplified representations. Real matches have fluid positions and micro-adjustments not captured here.
